Diamond Labs

A Note to Our Valued Customers:

There are a variety of diamond labs that provide certification of grades on diamonds (as well as other gemstones). The debate within the industry as to what is the most accurate lab report is an ongoing issue. At Dondero's, we constantly track the accuracy of the labs that grade the diamonds we sell.

The G.I.A. (Gemological Institute of America) trains and certifies all of the diamond graders that work in their various labs, so it would stand to reason that the G.I.A. lab grading reports would be the most accurate. However, that is not always the case. Diamond labs such as the European Gemological Laboratory (E.G.L.), Accredited Gem Appraisers (A.G.A.), Independent Gemological Laboratories (I.G.L.), and the American Gem Society Laboratories all offer very accurate and credible analyses.

The most important thing you can do is become intimate with the diamond you purchase before you purchase it. Once you are given the time to see the diamond--and not just the certificate--you will be able to make the right choice for you.

At Dondero's we give you that time, and we help you make sense of the information on the certificate. If the experience of buying your diamond is not the best it can be, the experience of giving that diamond will also be less than the best. Our educated sales staff can give you the knowledge you need to buy with confidence.
